"THE FLYING SHADOW":

The Flying Shadow

There are so many neat people who share my passion or
offer encouragement. Some flew in the past and still
love flying and or planes (for some I am not sure
which comes first?).
The guy in the shadow of the 172 at Whitewater Lake,
Subury, has recently refueled his teenage love with
planes. He flew gliders and in tow planes in Europe.
We all fly in the shadow of our mentors.
Ond day a few years ago he was a neighbour I did not
know, until I asked him why he was building a table
in his back yard..."Are you building a boat?"
"No, I want to build a plane!"
At that point my wife left the dog and I; we talked
a long time.
Tom is at the solo level again and for a guy young at
heart he is doing great.
